Review: MQTT Client for Tasker Integration

The application offers the ability to connect to any MQTT v3.1 broker and subscribe to specified topics. With its integration into Tasker, users can perform actions based on published messages or initiate publishes triggered by Tasker events. However, it’s important to note that the app is no longer under active development and may exhibit some rough edges.

Tasker Integration:

• Publishing Messages: Users can easily create an action in Tasker for message publishing. The configuration process is straightforward, allowing the use of Tasker variables in both the topic and message fields.
• Receiving Messages: To trigger actions upon receiving a message, users can set up an event in Tasker via the plugin. The configuration interface presents a drop-down menu for subscribed topics alongside fields for custom topic and message variable names, both of which should be entered in lowercase. Upon receipt of a message on the specified topic, two local Tasker variables are generated corresponding to the user-defined names.
